It's Official: I'm in Love with Love

Perhaps it's because Valentine's Day is right around the corner, or because I was born two days after this officially day of love but I've decided I'm totally and completely in love with love! There's also the minor detail that I happen to be in love, but I'm not accrediting this to him as I've always felt this way, for as long as I remember. (Even if I didn't have a boyfriend) Now don't get me wrong I know that this holiday is purely a Hallmark day created to "increase revenues inbetween Christmas and whatever holiday comes next" according to my accountant room-mate, but I still love it. I've also been lucky enough to have had great memories made on Valentine's day, so I'm sure that contributes to my love for love.

My boyfriend and I have an ongoing banter regarding Taylor Swift greeting cards, and let me tell you they ARE still in publication and I may or may not need to buy stock in them in order to continue gifting them to him every holiday. I believe my obsession with greeting cards, esspecially girly, singing, love song ones, also adds to my passion for being in love.

Mind you I do have a few pet peeves when it comes to the holiday. I can't stand it when girls have these extreme high expectations, because in all honesty you're probably not going to have flowers delievered to your doorstep by a knight in shining armor. Besides wouldn't you rather have to pick them up at the school post office and walk across the entire campus at a snail pace, so that all the other girls can see and envy your flowers. Guys, remember that is the true purpose of the flowers to make sure everyone else knows that you are loved. That kinda gets on my nerves. I also think we forget that it's not necessarily about being in a committed relationship, but remember all the people we love. So you lonely girls who claim it's the worst holiday of the year, get together with your other single girlfriends and raise a glass to that!

Whatever you decide to do for this happy holiday, keep me in mind as I've simply decided I love what love stands behind and stands for. It's official, I'm in love with love!

It doesn't matter what's on your back, you'll always be number 1 to me

I sat there fairly certain my jeans were frozen to the bleacher beneath me, but I wasn't budging. There he was on third base, and my heart was still racing from cheering until my throat was hoarse. But this was more than a triple at an opportune time in the game. This is what it means to work, wait and suffer. It all made it worth it in that one swing. Now he's not one to brag or boast, in fact at the moment if you asked him he'd tell you that he has a terrible bating average with a 2 for 7.

But don't let that fool you. I thought I'd take a few seconds and make sure the entire universe knew that I got to see his first Varsity at bat and man was it worth it. So the next time I'm putting leggings on under my jeans, and three shirts beneath a giant hoodie, someone pinch me to remind me it's real. Sometimes dreams come true, and his was always so simple. He's going to go onto the number one analytical chemistry program in the country, but his answer to one question will always be the same.

"What do you wanna be Bran?"
"A ball player."

He's been a ball player his entire life, but sometimes it's nice to be seen that way by everyone in the stadium.
